Nine of Wands

Known also as the Lord of Great Strength and aligned with the Sun in Sagittarius, the Nine of Nine of Wands Wands represents a sense of purpose, courage and the willingness and confidence to face challenges.

The Sun represents the ego, the core of the personality, and in Sagittarius it gives a broad interests and vision. This card arrives to tell you that your efforts and struggles have not been for naught - but you will be required to put in a final supreme effort before you succeed.

You are required now to find even more reserves of strength and fortitude to find your success. But this should not dishearten you, since you will most surely succeed.

The Nine of Wands shows us our deepest fears, that we are not good enough, that we cannot succeed when called on to do so. And yet it also represents our capacity to draw on our deepest reserves of courage and tenacity and to do just that - to succeed against all odds when the chips are down and we are spent.

And so, success is closer than you think and you need to keep going as you have built up so much momentum towards your goal. And so really, this card heralds your opportunity to find out what you are made of, what your real strengths are - they will surprise you.

If you have been telling yourself that you have done all you can and you can't go on for another second, then don't listen to that self-talk. It weakens your resolve and becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy if you let it.

Sometimes this card can mean that you are about to experience success and yet cannot accept it in some way - you don't feel you deserve it and so may turn away from it as it is about to arrive. Be aware of this and also honour yourself for having come so far - you do deserve it and you need to graciously accept it because otherwise you are disrespecting the deity that is honouring you in this way with its regard.

It's time to examine where in your life that your strengths and abilities may intimidate you - fear of success can be even more crippling than fear of failure if you let it.
