Six of Swords

The Six of Swords is the Lord of Earned Success and aligned with Mercury in Aquarius. It represents vision, brilliant ideas and the ability to grasp complex concepts and make them accessible. Six of SwordsMercury is the God of Communication, swift action and magic, while Aquarius represents Science, brotherhood and genius. Mercury is at home in Aquarius, as Aquarius is the higher octave for Mercury's electric energy, so that clarity is bestowed on the future.

This card generally shows a woman and child in a boat, heading towards an unknown future. The water is a symbol of the emotions, and here the water is shown to be calm. Since the image shows the boat and its inhabitants moving away from us, the idea portrayed is one of moving away from troubles and into a new future.

And so when the Six of Swords arrives in a reading, you can be sure that there will be a new understanding and focus coming in for you - where before you may have felt uneasy or confused by the direction your life is taking, now it all starts to fall into place and make sense. There is a reason for your struggles and lack of progress, and it has to do with the timing.

There was a need to wait for the right circumstances to line up for you, for the most favourable winds to form direction in your sails and move you towards a more fulfilling future.

You are not quite out of the woods yet, the card shows caution and careful movement, and yet the promise of better times ahead is unmistakable and welcome. You are required to speak your truth, communicate honestly and openly and not be afraid, as this will be the change in behaviour you need to make a material difference to your life, and is the thing you need to do to break free of old patterns and beliefs about yourself and about your world.

It is time to trust your insight and communicate to others in a different way that will free you from your past.
