The Three of Wands is the Lord of Established Strength and represents vision, confidence in self and integrity. Sun in Aries is aligned with this card, and this brings enterprise, drive and energy. The three wands represent spirit, creativity and action combining and working together to unleash positive results and fruitful rewards. Enthusiasm and optimism are highlighted and are important qualities to keep you on this path you have created and to see the outcomes that you are hoping for. The Three is an card of initial success, which means there is still work to do, and a lot of it. The Wands refer to creativity and passion, the qualities of Fire - you need to keep the spark alight while you are waiting to see what will come in from your work. The need for a risk in the past was what started the actions that result in this card - without the risk then nothing changes. But the willingness to take the risk was strong - but risk doesn't have to be foolish. Calculated risks are taken by wiser heads, and that is what is indicated here. And so this card comes into your reading to tell you that the risk that you took will pay off and you now need to wait to see the fruits of your labour, so some patience and trust is also required. Your world is about to expand even more, and so travel and contact with other lands or cultures is highlighted now. There is an emphasis on the past and a history of working hard towards what you want, perhaps...

The Three of Wands is also called the Lord of Established Strength and is aligned with Sun in Aries. It represents the pioneering spirit, and the realisation of the first stages of your most important goals and enterprise. The Sun is the Center, the Ego and the Life Force and when placed in Aries gives confidence, strength and initiative. Although a lack of patience is often a challenge with this placement, trust in a positive result is necessary and requires the ability to wait and act only when the time is right. And so when the Three of Wands turns up for you it brings confidence, persistent strength and success built on faith in oneself. The imagery of the Three of Wands often shows a man or woman gazing out onto a harbour scanning the horizon. It is often referred to as the card where one's ships come in. Having cast your hopes and resources out into the world, with no idea of whether those ships will float or indeed return with their hulls filled with gold, still you sent them out and must now wait with patience and also a sense of trust and faith in the outcome. A lovely metaphor indeed, and this card tells you that we often have to take a risk, strike out into the unknown, and not be afraid. Nothing was ever won or gained by playing it safe, and yet this card also brings with it a sense of right timing, knowing when to cast your lot out there in order to reap the most benefits. It is certainly a card of...
