The Ten of Wands is sometimes referred to as the Lord of Oppression and aligned with Saturn in Sagittarius. While Sagittarius wants freedom, expansion and possibilities, Saturn wants rules and safety and certainty which arises from fear. This is the card of carrying large burdens, having taken them on and perhaps underestimating the scope. The Ten in this Suit comes after victories have been achieved, accolades have been received, and yet the world is still asking more of you. It can represent a fear of success, for with success comes great responsibility and there is a question in your mind - can you sustain it? There is an exponential growth in what you feel you must take on to keep the momentum going and if you are not careful you may feel outweighed by responsibility. The Wands are cards of fire which is energy, and this card can indicate that your sources of renewing your energy have been overtaxed and are on the wane. You need to find ways to recycle your energy so that it is ever-renewing and not used up like some fossil fuel. There are important areas in your life where you are repressing your energy and your vitality. When you operate from a sense of fear or obligation, this increases stress and prolonged stress ultimately affects the health in a negative way. Our physiology is not built to carry the burden of continually stressful conditions, and something will give in the end unless you understand the importance of self-care. Find sources of energy in nature to rejuvenate your depleted stores - sunshine, rain-showers, waterfalls -...

The Page of Wands is the Princess of the Shining Flame and the Rose of the Palace of Fire. It is aligned with the energy of Fire and those astrological signs of Aries, Leo & Sagittarius. It represents the burgeoning powers of enterprise, excitement and change. The Pages in the Tarot represent a new energy, a breeze or embryonic stage of the energy represented in the Suit. The Suit of Wands is ruled by Fire and so brings much energy, enthusiasm and willpower to the table. Change of some kind is coming, but it is not a momentous change. Yet when it comes, it will be unmistakeable. This card brings youthful energies that are helpful, exciting and new. Perhaps there have been times recently past where you have felt jaded, bored and uninspired. This card is the broom that sweeps all the dullness away and brings back a feeling of aliveness and motivation to start feeling and experiencing life again. Often it heralds a message that will set you on a new path - one that mirrors the desires of your heart that you have not yet decided to acknowledge. And of course any of the Pages can represent a young person, male or female, who will be important to you in a way that awakens your own memories of youth, innocence and the feeling that you can achieve anything. It is well that you meditate on the qualities of this person if they come into your sphere, and rekindle those same qualities in your own life as they will help you to achieve things that the fear brought...

The Page of Wands is also known as the Princess of the Shining Flame and the Rose of the Palace of Fire and represents freedom from fear, new beginnings, travel and messages from afar. When this Page appears in a reading, there is a quickening of the pace of life and a feeling of excitement that something new is about to break through. When we let go of our fears, we leave room for joy and our natural spark to return and enliven us. There is passion, fire, enthusiasm, joy and trust in the world and in the future. Remember a time when you were truly fearless and recall how much energy and life you experienced - that is again possible for you now. When we understand that fear is a construct of the mind, it is something we invent to keep us safe in our secure little world, then we can also understand that we can make a new choice of focus. Is it scary? You might say yes, it certainly feels that way! But don't mistake fear for excitement and anticipation. It takes the same amount of energy to be scared as it does to be enthused and the thing that most people don't realise is that they get to choose. And the Page of Wands, being full of the new energy of Fire, arrives to tell you that transformation of limiting fear into liberating action is the key to mastering your life. Traditionally there is new energy available for pursuing travel, putting new ideas into action, and making new acquaintances. There is a swiftness to events...

Here we have the Page of Wands, who is also referred to as the Princess of the Shining Flame and Rose of the Palace of Fire. This Page represents creative beginnings, optimism and a quickening in the pace of life. Intuitive guidance and original ideas accompany the appearance of this card and it is often the case that new people will also appear in your life as the creative aspects of this energy play out. Wands are about movement - being of the Element of Fire, there is no procrastination here. It is all about an urge for change, excitement and new possibilities. When the Page turns up in your life as a person (which is often the case) it is a young spirit that is urging you to brush the cobwebs away from your stagnant thinking and start to consider the benefits of using your insight and intuitive senses to light a fire under your projects and your plans. This is delightful to contemplate - often we cannot see for ourselves how to create change and revolution, but by observing those who have a natural ability and impulse towards enthusiasm and a refusal to be stifled by convention, we learn something of how to embrace change and progress in our own lives. On an abstract level, this Page brings news, change and movement in areas of career, travel and anywhere communication is important. Swift resolutions to matters that have perhaps been stalled are now possible, and the effect is usually surprising and welcome. It is time for a change, for you to embrace your creativity and stop playing it safe....

The Knight of Wands - Lord of the Flame and Lightning and King of the Spirits of Fire - is ruled by Fire and represents movement of creativity and enterprise. He is aligned with the fire signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius and he often embodies the fiery qualities found in these signs. The Knight of Pentacles often brings a change of place - travel to a foreign land, or a change of residence. On a deeper level, it means a broadening of attitudes and beliefs, and a desire to expand your small world and embrace possibilities, ideas, and a different way of facing life and embracing possibilities. It is exciting and sometimes nerve-wracking, especially if you have been playing it safe and certain. You are about to be swept off your feet. As a person this Knight is dashing, exciting, eager to be off on his next adventure and therefore not one to stick around if you are hesitant in any way. Not exactly known for his reliability or adherence to rules and protocols, this Knight will in turns delight and exasperate. His enthusiasm is contagious and he will always cheer up a cold and dark room - he is a breath of fresh air, and will light a fire under you if you are hesitant or fearful. And often, after he has done that and made you eager for adventure and something different from your normal day to day existence, he is off again in a whirl and a flash of hooves. But don't be disheartened or disappointed - his job was to awaken you to the wide world and the...

The Queen of Wands is also the Queen of the Thrones of Flame, and is aligned with the fiery signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. She represents self-knowledge, compassion and loyalty. This Queen is born of Fire - she is passionate, fiercely loyal and not afraid to face danger and adversity. Her friends and family can rely on her to look out for them and she makes a formidable foe if you get on the wrong side of her. She knows how to have fun and to laugh things off - she is not one to dwell on what might have been - she is more a woman of action. She knows that often it is better to move towards what you want rather than dwell on why you don't yet have it. Her energy is relentless, and although she may seem to exist in a whirlwind of chaos, it is an organised chaos where one task or concern dovetails neatly into the next so that if you were to observe her activity from a great height, there would be a symmetry and synchronicity to her activity that is inspired. Friendship, a true meeting of minds, and faith in what she stands for are all qualities that this Queen brings to the table. However, when she is not in her right balance she can seem disruptive, disorganised, controlling and her effect can even be claustrophobic or smothering. But this is only because she has forgotten or lost the thread of her own vision and just needs a reminder to get her back on course. When this Queen turns up...
