Known also as the Lord of Pleasure and having much in common with the Sun in Scorpio, the Six of Cups represents emotional renewal, romance and reminiscing. The Sun is our essence, vitality and driving force and being placed in Scorpio gives our energy a depth and resonance that permeates to the core. It is the deep emotions, the face-off with the instincts and experiences that ask us to transform and grow and come to a deeper knowledge of ourselves. It can herald the return from an old friend or lover from the past, or a feeling of nostalgia for a time in your past when you considered your life was more perfect or perhaps less complicated. Often it brings fond memories of childhood, when life was less complicated and more magical. Often it feels like history repeating itself, like when someone who has passed out of your life ages ago turns up in a dream that you remember all the following day and it perplexes you - what does it mean? There may be situations occurring that remind you of the past, perhaps when things didn't go so well, and this is often because the lessons we needed to learn from past experiences were not really integrated and so they occur again, to remind you of your patterns and the need to come up with a different response. This Six brings with it a need or desire for contemplation and meditation, and is an opportunity to examine your past experiences and the traces of those times that you still carry with you and that affect your life and...

The Six of Cups is also known as the Lord of Pleasure and is aligned with Sun in Scorpio. It is a time to give yourself up to your positive emotions and to enjoy the richness of your feelings and understand how important your feelings are to your ongoing happiness. The key to success in life is to go to your positive emotions as much as possible, since it is out of a sense of feeling emotionally fulfilled that the rest of your life flows. You are able to enjoy yourself now using the emotions as a channel since you have learnt from the past what makes you feel good and what doesn't. You have the opportunity to grow up your emotional life and create circumstances in your life that enrich your feelings. From a base of secure and enjoyable emotion, you can now succeed in other areas of your life. You may now enjoy stillness and peace following on the footsteps of trouble. Put your worries aside, since they are not real and cannot exist at the same time and in the same space as serenity and happiness. You will be looking back on the past with fondness, and sometimes the past returns, sometimes in the form of a lover, sometimes in situations that seem to be repeating themselves, although this time you are not at the mercy of their effects, whatever they may be. You have grown so much, and some of that growth has been painful, but you are in a place now where that is all forgotten and you may look forward to your future...

Known also as the Lord of Pleasure and aligned with the Sun in Scorpio, the Six of Cups represents emotional renewal, enjoyment and pleasurable experiences, nostalgia and daydreams. The Sun is our centre, our ego and our light, while Scorpio refers to our ability to have deep emotional responses that add richness to our experiences if we let them. So our whole being has the opportunity to be enriched and made more full by the influence of this card. There is an element of karma or karmic ties, also a fondness for remembering good times past and even the return of a friend or lover from long ago. This is often a pleasant surprise that adds colour and meaning to your life at this point. How you experience this card will largely depend on what is going on in the present for you. If you are reliving your past as a means to escape what is happening in the present, you will find that you may be alienating those most close to you now and that have your best interests at heart. But if you are at a good place in your life now, then looking back will have the effect of enhancing even more your present experiences. In other words, there is a tendency to indulge in escapism so the advice is to avoid this and deal with what is going on right in front of you now. Since this is such a 'blast from the past' card, it could be that you find old emotional patterns that you learned as a child may be resurfacing, when you...

Of all the court cards, the Queens bring maturity, composure and understanding to the table. The Queen of Cups can be a psychic sponge, and the danger for her is taking on the feelings and emotional burdens of others without a clear way to delineate what she can keep and make use of and what she should shed for her own balance and state of mind. It may be difficult for her to draw boundaries so she ends up drained and often lacking energy, and as a compensation she may withdraw or allow some annoyance or irritability to surface in order to gather some space around her to recapture her emotional equilibrium. This is because she can allow others to take advantage of her kind heart and as a Queen she feels her responsibilities keenly and it takes a lot for her to say no. Still, there are those who would take advantage of her good nature, and she needs to firm up her fluid boundaries to keep this from happening so frequently. She is similar in some ways to The High Priestess, but the difference between the two is that the energy of the Priestess is that of a Goddess, somewhat remote and at the same time daunting, where the experience of the Queen of Cups is more human and therefore more fallible and prone to error or being misused by self or others. The key for this Queen is to remain centred by allowing herself small indulgences to rebuild her delicate nerves and sensibilities. If she would only gift herself with a little "me" time, the batteries...

Known also as the Queen of the Thrones of Water and representing emotional integrity and the expression of authentic emotions, this Queen is concerned with maternal issues, and your ability to trust your intuitive guidance and your ability to embrace the deeper meaning of life. This Queen is connected - deeply, emotionally, instinctually - to the base material of life and the drive towards creation and co-creation. She is kindness and compassion and the essence of the calm sea that soothes and caresses one's cares and woes. When you are troubled and everyone around you tries to fix you or tells you to get over it or that you are imagining your troubles, she is the one that just listens and is with you to let you feel what you are feeling without making your feel wrong or broken. She helps you to connect to the depths of your own emotions and validates them, and so ultimately leads you to your healing and back out towards your life=force again. This Queen may be detached from her feelings - her sensitivity to others' pain and suffering often causes her to numb her feelings because she does feel it all so deeply. It is just self-preservation, and who can blame her? She still has a warm heart that can be reached by those who are genuine. She can represent the personification of fantasy - if you have a creative project that is based in fantasy or fiction or magic, then this Queen will help you to connect to the deep undercurrent that energises and brings to life these concepts. The Queen...

Known also as the Lord of the Waves and the Water, the Knight of Cups represents desires, wishes and the seeds of transformation. So at the deepest level, the Knight of Cups represents dealing with one's emotional needs. The Knights always represent movement of some kind, and Cups ruling the emotional realm, there must be some change or progress in terms of emotional maturity. He represents the Knights of the Holy Grail, who searched across many lands and faced many unknown dangers to follow a spiritual ideal - this individual is someone who is idealistic, creative and sensitive. As a lover he is romantic, attentive and reflects back to you what you most desire - it is the blossoming of the potential of true love and it is intoxicating. Understanding emotions, learning how to master them and to not be governed and thrown hither and thither by them, is the lesson in this card. The energy of this Knight will bring you opportunities to learn more about your emotional responses in the world and how to control and use them for your benefit. Rather than be carried away by passion, which is the first impulse when this energy arises, this card seeks a gentler and more soulful expression of emotion - chiefly love and desire. Traditionally, this Knight may bring romantic offers, proposals, first dates - the Knight of Cups represents the chivalraic energy of poetic love, admiration and adulation from a distance and the romantic gesture, but it can also bring news of creative work offers and interesting opportunities to develop artistic talents. This card can also refer...
